Gunnar Nordstrøm began as an independent tradesman in 1974 with the sale of solid fuel a. o.

At the end of the 1970s the activities expanded with the company’s own import of coal, coke and briquettes.
A couple of years later the company established its own coaling station on Køge Harbour where a. o. a new storage hall with modern packing and palletizing works for various fuel products was built.

In 1982 the company started its own production of bio fuel and a new concept within fire wood was developed.

Based on this, it was possible to deliver fire wood all over Denmark at competitive prices.

Our factory in Latvia - Nordstrom Industries Sia, Mores , LV-2170 Rigas Rajons.

The factory has storage and production buildings of approx. 6500 m² and an outdoor storage space of approx. 70.000 m².

At the end of the 1980s the company established its own purchasing department in Latvia with the main purpose to buy up bio fuel for the Danish market.

Subsequently, our sale of bio fuel in Denmark developed rapidly and we realized that it was necessary to begin our own production in Latvia to secure the best possible quality and security of supplies.

In 1990 the company began its own production in Latvia which has subsequently been drastically extended into the following 2 companies:

  w    NORDSTROM LATVIA Sia. in 1994.
  w    NORDSTROM INDUSTRIES Sia in 1996.

The above companies are 100% Danish-owned and produce / supply NORDSTRØM HANDEL A/S with everything within bio fuel and sawmill products. The companies export to several countries.
